Saddened by the loss of the hedgehogs, the animals take a detour into appetising-looking cabbage fields. But the leaves are covered with deadly pesticides. Fox decides to search for edibles in a nearby town at night. The nocturnal expedition turns into a nightmare when Fox and Vixen are chased by dogs, and no sooner has Fox returned to the others than the animals are caught between two tractors spraying pesticides. Rabbit gets caught in the shower of pollutants but, to his own great astonishment, survives.
