After Banjo kills a teenager in a shootout, he and his colleagues Robbie, Warwick and Tony, who were involved, must testify about the incident before a commission of inquiry. After the suicide of police chief Richard Miller, PR chief Liz considers whether it would be smart to appoint a woman as his successor and nominate Sharon Franklin instead of Charlie Inglis for the commissioner's post. The enmity between Liz and Finn grows stronger and stronger. Liz learns from Tom that Inglis is using dishonest means and rope-a-dope to award cooperative contracts and is turning certain "screws" as he maintains a good relationship with the incumbent vice mayor. She sticks this to the press to give Sharon a tailwind for her nomination. Everything looks good after her move to involve auxiliary police officers in the search for the missing boy is also well received.
