Two mice finally have children, a son and a daughter. But as it happens, the children are quite different from what the parents wanted. Son Dandelion is small and lanky, but smart. Daughter Silkpaw is bold and brave. Together they conquer air, water and the world while their parents care and worry. Later, Dandelion moves to the city to become famous. And Silkpaw marries a young mouser. They too have sons and daughters who are very different from what they wanted their children to be...!
