"On the tracks of Winnetou" brings back the myth of the Winnetou films. The production of the Kulmbacher company Kama Media leads "Winnetou" Pierre Brice and "Sam Hawkens" Ralf Wolter after more than 40 years back to the original showplaces of the legendary films. In impressive pictures, the film visits locations such as the Plitvice lakes (the legendary "Silver Lake"), the Mali Alan rock massif (the characteristic gold mountain "Nugget-tsil"), the Zrmanja plateau (the location of the Apache Pueblo), the Krka waterfalls (the cascades where important film scenes were once made) and other film locations. Besides Brice and Wolter, other participants remember the "great time of Winnetou". Among them are "Nscho-tschi" Marie Versini, the dynamic Götz George, the racy Dunja Rajter, producer Horst Wendlandt and his son Matthias (the junior who, according to legend, played a decisive role in the creation of the film), as well as composer Martin Böttcher, whose melodies Winnetou and Old Shatterhand are written especially for him. Winnetou and his faithful companions revive in this unique film documentary.
