The largest anarchist project in Europe, the "Free State of Christiania", has been a much 70's, has been a highly regarded experiment in alternative forms of coexistence. On the occupied grounds of a military barracks in the middle of Copenhagen, Denmark, about 800 people of very different origins and mother tongues have been living together in free association since 1971. Despite many difficulties, the Free State has always stood its ground and still exists today. The film reports on a visit of several weeks in the spring of 1976.
