Denkmalsforschung

Art/Short Film, Germany 1972

"Authors make films" was the concept behind the television series Fiction - Non Fiction, which the LCB planned together with SFB and WDR. Writers such as Günter Grass, Martin Walser, Wolfgang Koeppen, Arno Schmidt and Uwe Johnson were to have a free hand in the conception and design of a cinematic work, supported only technically by Wolfgang Ramsbott, the head of the LCB's film department. In this form, however, only a film by the Kreuzberg scene great Günter Bruno Fuchs, Denkmalsforschung, came about. His monument research takes Fuchs to the Siegessäule, among other places, for whose demolition he is collecting money.
