André (Stefan Kurt), who is in his mid-fifties, still lives with his eighty-year-old mother Louise (Annemarie Düringer). He leads an unspectacular existence as a cab driver and tinkerer who hardly dares to approach the beautiful sausage seller from the model airfield (Nina Proll). One day a stranger from America appears at the door: the dazzling Bill (Stanley Townsend), who soon turns the tranquil togetherness of Lovely Louise and André upside down.
