Maestro Celibidache was one of the most uncompromising personalities in the music world. He demanded three times the rehearsal time of other conductors and had a passionate reluctance to record, because he was afraid of misrepresenting his musical intentions. This concert from the Munich Herkulessaal shows one of the rare occasions on which he agreed to a recording. He conducts the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.
