Francisca, a young Portuguese woman, has been residing in Brazil for a year when her mother urges her to invite a long-lost friend, Teresa, into her home. As Teresa begins to explore Belo Horizonte, where she hopes to start a new life away from the struggles plaguing her homeland, Francisca dreams of a return to Lisbon. Throughout the film, viewers witness each woman's journey and the profound friendship that blossoms between them, leading them to confront their conflicting desires: the desire to flee to a foreign land and the unrelenting yearning for home.
