In "Paris Calligrammes", Ulrike Ottinger, who lived in Paris as a young painter in the 1960s, weaves her personal memories of the Parisian bohemian scene and the serious social, political and cultural upheavals of the time into a cinematic "figure poem" (calligram). Text and image, complemented by language, sound and music, combine to form a mosaic from which the fullness of life of this period and at the same time the fragility of all cultural and political achievements speak.
