White Star

Music/Drama, Germany 1983

Dennis Hopper stars as the washed-up, erratic, publicity-crazed Ken Barlow, a rock'n'roll tour manager. Ken doesn't want to give up his big ideas of success, but musician Moody is his last chance. The appearance in this wicked Berlin punk club turns into a debacle that ends in a street battle. But for Barlow the evening is a complete success. Obsessed with the idea that in the fast-moving show business, the only thing that counts is the headlines, good or bad, he feels encouraged. The situation escalates. Cocaine addict and megalomaniac Hopper plays himself and lets the film stand in front of the explosion for 90 minutes. 100% unadulterated.
