Before being called Romanès, Alexandre went by the name of Bouglione. One day he slammed the door of the family circus: "Too big, too many tents, too many trucks, it wasn't human anymore". Twenty years later he met "the terrible" Délia, a Romani woman from Romania who spoke and sang "Romanès", the Romani language. Together, they had five children, including four girls, whom he taught acrobatics, contortion or juggling, and he founded a small circus that he called Romanès. This family led by a poet, this clan of acrobatic wanderers and musicians wants to preserve at all costs what is most important to them: the right to be nomadic and free. An uphill battle these days.
