Mini Series | Episode 1: Oh, how beautiful is Panama / Popov and the story of the castle

Janoschs Traumstunde

Family/Animation, Germany 1986

Janosch's Dream Hour - who doesn't know them? The short animated films based on the famous stories by the illustrator, children's book author and writer Janosch, born in 1931, are already classics in their own right. Actually, they are almost like children, the cuddly, happy, unruly characters, and that is probably why they are so popular with children from three to 103: Tiger Pig, Rabbit Robinson, Tiger and Bear are as imaginative and fantastic as the situations they get into. Pigs let their school burn down; animal villains throw the town into turmoil; a rabbit shows a pack of wild dogs the ropes; Tiger and Bear set off to find out what the Panama bananas are all about... The designs and texts of the award-winning children's series come from Janosch, whose picture books and stories have been translated into over 30 languages. In his children's stories, Janosch tells of friendship and loneliness, of dreams, daydreams and dreamy days. He tells wise stories in which fantasy and reality come true and in which so much mischief always happens that one always enjoys their light-hearted side as well. Oh, how beautiful is Panama A little bear and a little tiger live by a river. One day, a banana crate drifts by, and it says where it comes from - from "Pa-na-ma". This land, where it should smell of bananas everywhere like in the box, becomes the land of dreams for the two. And they set off in search of it. When, after many adventures, they finally believe they have found their dream land, they are where they have always lived. Popov and the story of the castle The bird Kleiber wants to show his human friend Popov the castle in the clouds and therefore teaches him to fly. In the castle in the air old Popov finds 12 beautiful princesses. When he is supposed to marry one of them, he falls out of the window in fright. His friend Kleiber makes sure that he doesn't hit the ground too hard.
